A joint task force exposes a network accused of raping minors and filming the attacks for a handler previously arrested in France.

A sweeping police operation in Senegal has resulted in the detention of 14 suspects linked to a “transnational” criminal organization focused on the sexual exploitation of children. The arrests follow a series of coordinated raids on homes in Dakar and Kaolack, approximately 200km southeast of the capital.

The charges levied against the group are severe. Prosecutors accuse the members of intentionally spreading HIV/AIDS by forcing minors into unprotected sexual encounters. The victims were reportedly subjected to sodomy and rape while the acts were recorded.

The DIC carried out a major operation, dismantling a transnational organised criminal group whose members are based primarily between France and Senegal.

The ring’s activities have been traced back to 2017. Intelligence sharing between Dakar and Paris proved critical to the investigation; a delegation of French officers assisted their Senegalese counterparts on the ground. The probe indicates the local cell was financially motivated, receiving payments to execute orders from a French ringleader currently in custody in Europe since April 2025.
